Welcome Fr. Matthew Mauriello

GraceWorks is delighted to welcome Fr. Matthew Mauriello to the team. His homilies are featured in September and October. In the current and upcoming months, he will be writing homilies for obligatory solemnities and memorials.

Fr. Matt was born in New Jersey in 1956. He was ordained in the Marian Year 1988 and served in Puerto Rico. He began service in the Bridgeport, CT, diocese in 1991. He served as pastor of two parishes, 2002-2016, and thereafter chaplain to a hospital and two nursing homes. He retired in June 2025. 

Since 2004, Fr. Matt has been a Speaker at the Blue Army Shrine of the World Apostolate of Fatima in New York and a columnist in their publication, Soul Magazine. 

In 2005, he earned the S.T.L. degree from the Pontifical Marianum University in Rome in the Theology of Mary. In 2007, he was appointed a member of the international committee to plan the World Apostolic Congress on Mercy and began to preach on the Lord’s Mercy nationally. 

In 2010, Fr. Matt was named the USA delegate to the Basilica of Pompeii in Italy and is an Honorary Canon of the Cathedral Basilica of Orvieto, Italy. 

In 2023, he was invested as a Knight Chaplain of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. He is also the author of two books.
